THE CLIENT

Stefi Illuminazione was born in 1982 from an idea by Stefania Berti and Nazzareno Mucci in a small town in the province of Tuscany. In a few years the commercial activity grows and the production of lamps multiplies with the increase in the number and importance of the customers. Since then, the company has continued to grow, reaching today an annual production of 100,000 pieces and a storage area of over three thousand square meters. Seriousness, correctness and professional honesty are values that have always distinguished Stefi illuminazione, leading it to be one of the main players in the sector in Italy.

THE NEED

In 2010, the Company saw its production progressively increase and asked to harmonize and make more efficient all the operations of acquisition and order fulfillment, to reduce delivery times and optimize production times. The specificity of the production is, despite a high number of particular products, that each single piece must bear the indications of the end customer, making the preparation of the material a bottleneck in the company cycle.

THE SOLUTION

As a first operation, the old management system is migrated to Expresso Desktop and then it is decided to move all the office operations, such as label printing, indications of orders to be prepared and so on, directly into production, using dedicated panels.

Subsequently, the glass preparation and assembly panels, the tablets for material preparation and the totems for shipping are prepared. All this leads to a significant streamlining of production and a significant reduction in errors.

Working side by side with the Customer, according to the philosophy of continuous improvement, an exceptional level of automation has been achieved over the years.

This has allowed Stefi Illuminazione to become a direct Amazon supplier, automatically managing all document handling and labeling according to Amazon’s stringent specifications.
