Ingenia Automation was founded in 1987 as a company specializing in electrical and electronic design and the production of PLCs for machine connections. In 2002, it became Nachino’s agent for Piedmont and Valle d’Aosta, specializing in the design and installation of turnkey systems for loading and unloading machine tools. In 2024, it joined the Endurance Overseas Group, the European holding company of the Indian multinational automotive group Endurance Technologies Limited.

The company initially needed to interface its machinery at the software level. Subsequently, it wanted to guarantee customers a traceability service and visual control of product quality.

In 1998, VM Vision developed software for machine connection. It later developed Trace software based on the customer’s specific needs, enabling real-time monitoring of all the stations within the plant.

Ingenia Automation, a longtime client of the software house, has grown significantly over time, becoming one of the most important Italian players in the design and construction of industrial automation systems. This evolution has allowed VM Vision, in close collaboration with company management, to develop new software specifically for the traceability of production processes.

The initial collaboration with Ingenia Automation allowed the software house to gain solid experience in developing software for PLC connections. Ingenia’s growth subsequently encouraged VM Vision to develop its own Trace 4.0 software, working closely with company management.
