THE CLIENT

The history of Pastificio Rey has distant roots. Born in 1851 as a small artisan workshop in the center of a small town, San Damiano D’Asti, thanks to its strength, the quality of its product and the ability to adapt to changing tastes, the Pastificio has become an industrial reality with a production capacity of 16,000 kg/h of pasta, maintaining the same flavors of Piedmontese craftsmanship.

THE NEED

In 2011, Pastificio Rey asked us to automate a Pallet labelling line (Single or Overlapping), connecting to the Palletizers PLC and the Traceability software. After 3 years from the start of the Odette labeling procedure, in 2014 the client decides to involve us to standardize all the software under a single platform.

THE SOLUTION

1 The first development is completely Custom and includes a module called Sentinel, which is responsible for communicating with the PLCs in the field, printing the SSCCs both automatically and manually and recording all the data on the traceability software in use at the time.

2 In 2014, it was decided to begin the migration of the previous traceability software and also eliminate the company management system, moving everything to the Expresso platform. The migration lasted for part of 2014 and in 2015 the new software with specific interfaces for the Pasta Factory became fully operational.

3 Subsequently, the loading silos combined with the DDT of the semolina suppliers, the vertical warehouse with 6000 pallet spaces and a whole series of machines, from palletizers to weight scales, from packaging machines to every machine that is part of the production cycle, are integrated. The electronic exchange of commercial documents is managed with the EDI standard (Euritmo and EDIFACT) for large-scale retail trade.

THE CONSIDERATION

The Client, constantly evolving and with ever new ideas and needs, is a constant spur to us to continue the programming work in search of innovative solutions.
